Biography
A native of Southern California, Michael Crane holds a doctorate in music from USC. A classical pianist for most of his life, in the past few years he has established a name for himself as a film composer. In recognition of his work, Michael was selected for the mentorship program of the Society of Composer’s and Lyricists. This honor brought him in contact with some of the most well-known composers working in the industry today, including Alf Claussen (The Simpsons), and Ron Jones (Family Guy). Most recently, Michael completed the score to the documentary, Comix, and the short film, Apochryphon. Michael has also co-produced and scored two short films under his production company, Ufonaut Films; Faithful featuring Josh Keaton (Green Lantern, The Animated Series) and Yuri Lowenthal (Ben 10) and The Dentros, starring Mariette Hartley (Ride The High Country, Marnie), John Saxon (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Erik Odom (The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn). Michael’s classical background is evident in the music that he creates. Having performed and studied music all his life, he combines a dramatic and lyrical sensibility that has its roots in the great musical traditions of the past.
